Korean calligraphy frames, also known as "Dancheong," play a significant role in the presentation and preservation of traditional Korean calligraphy and artwork. Dancheong is a traditional Korean decorative coloring technique that has been used for centuries in various aspects of Korean art and architecture. It involves intricate and colorful patterns often seen in temples, palaces, and artwork. Korean calligraphy frames are typically made from wood, although modern versions can also use other materials such as plastic or metal. The choice of wood can vary, but durable and high-quality woods like pine are commonly used. Dancheong frames are characterized by their vibrant and intricate designs. These designs often incorporate various colors, including red, blue, green, and gold, in geometric patterns, floral motifs, and other decorative elements. The intricate patterns are meticulously hand-painted or applied.
