What does this mean?

Dear Philip,

You have a Chinese ginger jar made in the 19th century bearing a Kangxi mark ( ca. 1700 ). The decoration is called Prunes decoration and the way the blue is painted is called Crackled ice. Many Chinese porcelain is made in 19th century bearing Kangxi markings. It is called Kangxi revival porcelain. There was a good marked for it ( export ) and to honor the old emperor they used his reign mark. You have the original lid. That is nice.

Regards,

Simon Breider
