Hello Christopher, I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal, Considering the photographs, overall pattern, writings and the colours, I concluded that this is a Hand Made Japanese Painting, dating back to the period between 1960-1980. Although it lacks the necessary details this image clearly depicts a Winter scene. A soldier and his horse appears on paper, the soldier is an archer to be specific. We can understand that this is a winter scene from the expressions and positions of both the archer and the horse. The archer joins his hands and blow air to warm them up, also covers his face to get warm. The horse appears to be a tired mood. It resembles a return scene in Winter. The red mark on the right side is a maker's mrk and the other writing titles the piece. Entirely hand painted of average quality. The precision is not ver high and the decoration is not detailed much but a very collectable piece still. Has a frame. In good condition without faults. Entirely hand painted. Dimensions: Unknown Condition: In good condition without faults. Provenance: Purchased from Auction House. 80-120$.
