Hello Laura. Thank you for your appraisal inquiry with MeArto. The item presented appears to be an offset lithograph after a painting by Bernard Buffet (French; 1928 - 1999) titled "Tower Bridge, London." The print is signed and dated in plate to the upper edge. Born in Paris, Bernard Buffet studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. He is a renowned French Expressionist whose work remarkably rivaled Picasso’s, particularly in the 1950s. His paintings and illustrations often feature gaunt spindly figures, bleak sketchy cityscapes, chilling still lifes, or tortured depictions of Christ. Buffet’s work is represented by numerous institutions including the Tate Gallery in London, the Musee d’Art Moderne de la Ville Paris, and the Brooklyn Museum of Art, among others. The estimate provided is based on recent auction estimates and results of this print and other offset lithographs after Bernard Buffet paintings.
