inherited doll - looking for more info.

I inherited MANY dolls from my grandmother- hundreds. This one in particular i wanted to get appraised or try and find more information on it. I cannot find the initials anywhere online. The marking on the back of neck is MD with the numbers (either 84 or 34- hard to tell) My grandmother wrote on the tag: Compo body, porcelain head, glass eyes, (something) hair -- cannot make this out. dress swiss, batiste, french lace, pierced ears. She is in great condition and does not come with a box. her right shoe is missing a bow. her hair is loose (as you can see in pic of neck markings, but isn't fully detached.

Dear Jennifer, Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. The presented object appears to be a bisque head and composite body doll with a height of 18 inches. This doll was probably made in the first half of the 20th century in Europe. The neck is illegible and hallmarked and does not fit with makers like Armand Marseille, Jumeau, or Simon Halbig. It was probably made in France by a smaller manufacturer. The rounder face and full cheeks indicate this localization. The hair appears to be a later addition like the clothes. Comparable objects were recently offered and sold on the international auction market. This piece is in good condition and no severe damage is visible in the images provided. A fair market estimation would be between 80 to 150 USD. This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary. With kind regards, Gregory
