Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of background on this item. I was given it for free in Florida from a woman who said it belonged to her grandmother. I have searched the item for a signature and I can see a very small black mark on the bottom of one of the legs, but not sure if it's just a scar or a signature. It looks like it could have been a hall table that displayed valued items or a jewelry display case in a old jewelry store.
