This piece of history is certainly well preserved despite its visible signal of aging and oxide. It features a steel blade with grip and iron cross-guard and completed with iron pommel having square design. Judging from the pictures the grip appears to be original, which is extremely rare and the pommel and cross guard are in fair condition. No tests have been carried out on this sword and the dimensions are unknown. Toledos exceptional steel were forged the most terrible arms in the world. Their extraordinary hardness made of each of these swords an invincible force in the hands of an expert swordsman. All European armies knew the superior quality of Toledos steel and many great warriors relied only on sabers of Toledan provenance. It's balance is superb, creating an exceptional fighting sword with fearsome cutting ability and excellent point control for the thrust, and constructed for battle, the grip and furniture bear the marks of extensive use.
