Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is: A pair of vintage French Empire revival carved and painted side chairs Probably Continental, late 19th/early 20th Century Both with gondola backs with swan's neck ears continuing into demilune seats raised on four turned legs. The frames with cream paint upholstered in a mauve upholstery. 39 inches high, 21 inches wide, 20 inches deep. CONDITION: not examined in person but appears to be in good condition with wear commensurate to age and use. PROVENANCE: Imported to Canada by Imperial Sales Agency, Downsview, Ontario, Canada. Sold to interior designer David S. Hendricks and installed at his client, the Owner of the Hy & Zel's Retail Chain. $700-1,000 for the pair* *represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
