Framed Oil Painting of Mountains/Trees/Lake

Landscape oil painting measuring 15" x 20". With the gold frame, the total measurement is 25" x 30". I am unable to identify the artist's name and hoping you can help. I do not have any paperwork on this painting. The frame bears the label of "William Whiteley" Art Department in London as the company that framed this painting. This business was around in the late 1800s or early 1900's I believe, which tells me it's quite old. The painting shows wear & some damage so I'm wondering if you can tell me if it has any/much value.

Dear Linda, Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. This is a traditional landscape painting of a mountain view with a lake. The label on the reverse indicates that a 19th-century British artist probably executed your work. Sight: approx. 15" x 20 " Framed: approx. 25" x 30" It is signed in red on the lower left "(?) Walters". There are some signs of wear and tear on the painting and the gilt frame. Unfortunately, after searching this name, I am sorry to say that I could not find any similar artist's signature in our records. It seems to me that an obscure artist has executed the painting that you own. Therefore, this is reflected in the estimate in red that appears above. The subject work’s size, composition, and condition were also considered when determining these figures. Best regards, Karine
