More specific information as to its collection information, exactly where it was found, and in what surrounding matrix will assist in identifying age and if the specimen. If an in-person evaluation can more closely access the animal and time. It is possible this could be an older bovine remnant; but could be of a fragment from a washed away ice age animal remain. I suggest that, when you have time, you take your item to a regional natural science museum or university department. Your local library may also be able to connect you with resources; sometimes these organizations will host specialist days for in-person assessment.
