Wood, looks like maybe plaster carvings? ( see wire in a few cracks) covered with gold leif, 3 chains and tassels hanging from eagles beak back is wood and l have found no markings

Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is: A Federal carved and gilt gesso convex pier mirror American, probably late 19th Century Surmounted by a wingspread eagle with swag chains over stylized acanthus leaves, the circular convex frame with 13 applied stars, over a scrolled waterleaf and acanthus drop pendant. 41 inches high, width 24 inches CONDITION: appears to be in generally good overall condition; minor wear with some cracking commensurate to age. $800-1,200* *represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
