Hi Kathleen, Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. It's sometimes difficult to identify the maker of these early bears without tags, buttons, etc. The shape of the head and ears, and the way the mouth and nose are distinguished, are similar to bears made by Gebruder Bing in Germany in the first quarter of the 20th Century. Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is: A vintage mohair jointed teddy bear European, early 20th Century Lacking glass eyes, sewn nose, mouth and claws, cardboard joints, with excelsior stuffing. Apparently unmarked. 17 inches long; 5-1/2 inches across arms CONDITION: Lacking eyes, with wear commensurate to age. PROVENANCE: Inherited $ 200-300* *represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary. Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, or questions/concerns, and thank you again for using Mearto. ~ Delia
