Dear Joseph, Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. My sincere apologies for the delay with the appraisal. The presented object appears to be a probably British saw handle cap and ball pistol with a length of 16 inches. It has an octagonal barrel, engravings on the lockplate, and also gold or brass inlays. On the barrel, London is readable with inlay work but there are no proof or acceptance stamps of how they were common and mandatory in Great Britain. It was probably made in the first half of the 19th century. Comparable objects were recently offered and sold on the international auction market. This piece is in good condition and no severe damage is visible in the images provided. A fair market estimation would be between 300 to 600 USD. This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary. With kind regards, George
