Dauler-Close Youth Bed

Wooden Dauler-Close youth bed. Hand painted details/artwork on headboard and footboard. Side rails are very sturdy and lock very well into head/foot boards to create a solid bed. Includes five cross slats for mattress. Dauler-Close was a Pittsburgh,Pa furniture company from 1837-1932. Dimensions: Length: 79.5”. Width: 41”. Height of headboard: 45”. Height of footboard: 25.25”. Height of side rails: 12.5”. One caster is missing. Also looks like there was a wooden carving on top of headboard that is missing.

Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is: An antique Renaissance Revival painted and parcel gilt mahogany twin bed made by Dauler Close Furniture Company, Pittsburgh, PA, early 20th Century With arched headboard and footboard centering an oval cameo with winged putti, five supporting slats, raised on short turned legs with painted bellflowers and guilloche trim, on casters (one lacking). With factory plaque. Height of headboard 45 inches Height of footboard: 25 1/4 inches Height of side-rails: 12 1/2 inches Length: 79 1/2 inches Width: 41 inches CONDITION: not examined in person but appears to be in good condition with wear commensurate to age. Client advises this is lacking a caster and a post finial element. $200-300* *represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
