The Union Furniture Co was originally established as the Rockford Union Furniture Company in 1876 and dropped the "Rockford" name after 1890 when it became known more simply as the Union Furniture Co.; it remained in business until 1933. It made furniture in a number of different styles; your curio cupboard combines the plain oak construction of the "Mission" style and the curved lines of the "Art Nouveau" style. Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is: An antique demilune tiger oak curio cupboard made by the Union Furniture Co., Rockford, Ill., probably 1920s Of half-round section, the corresponding frame fitted with glass sides and wooden mirrored back, the single hinged door opening to a wooden-shelved interior, all raised on short cabriole legs ending in paw feet.
