Crafted by my great-grandmother in Crete, Greece, this handmade rug predates 1900. Exclusively using prime materials, she sourced the wool from local sheep and after cleaning in the Aegean Sea, she processed it with plant-based dyes and then separated it into wool threads. Woven in a traditional loom, it took approximately six months to complete. Despite its age, this rug has never been used, preserving its pristine condition as it passed down through generations, from my great-grandmother to my grandmother and now to me.
