Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is: An antique cast iron kettle made by Higgins, McCloud & Martin, Troy, N.Y., after 1861 Of circular section and baluster form with domed cover, single swing handle and serpentine spout with nipped tip, the cover marked "Higgins, McCloud & Martin, Troy, N.Y. / cover pat'd Jan 1, 1861"; underside marked 8. 11 by 13 by 10 inches CONDITION: appears to be in generally good condition with some oxidation and pitting to cast iron PROVENANCE: inherited $30-50* *represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
