Hello Rhonda, I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal, Considering the photographs, overall pattern, glass quality and the colours, I concluded that this is an Entirely Hand Blown Murano Glass Bowl by the Arte Vetraria Muranese, or AVEM. The piece was made between 1953-1958 period. The Atelier was mostly famous for their "Bizantino" patern with very colorful accents, also known as tutti-frutti by the collectors as the pieces are incredibly colourful and executed within a wide range of colours. This piece of yours is very eclectic both in design and technique, in the technique we can clearly see the Murrina technique as a highlight. As for the design amorphic shapes were used alongside geometrical ones and enhanced by Murrine. The piece is like a natural, living form with it's organic shape. The inner bending details a the middle is stunning as well as the almost symmetrical curly shapes at the each end. The back of the piece is completely different from it's inner surface. The back, base was decorated with a dark Turquoise colour with gradient style and sparkles inside. The piece is in good condition without any visible problems. Entirely hand blown Murano Glass. Dimensions: 9 Inches Long by 4 Inches Wide Condition: The piece is in good condition without any visible problems. Provenance: The piece was a gift to the current woner's parents back in 1958. Heavily decorated by Bizantino patterns. 150-250$. Please don’t hesitate to reach us again for more online appraisals on your precious items, thank you for choosing Mearto.
