Hi Gregg, Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. A lot of bronzes were cast in Austria in the first half of the 20th Century but I don't recognize this mark so probably not a foundry of great significance. Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is: A vintage Neoclassical style cast bronze urn Austrian, circa 1940s The vasiform two-handled urn with raised lion decoration to the rim, Classical style figural decoration to the body, on a circular foot on marble socle on a bronze square foot with notched corners. Marked "191 FM Austria" to the underside of the bronze foot. 16 inches high, 10 inches diameter CONDITION: appears to be in good condition PROVENANCE: acquired in 1995 from a German antiques dealer $400-600* *represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary. Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you again for using Mearto.
