Description

Mold: 390 (socket head on composition body) Height: 8 in Width: 3 in Clothes are sewn on. Colors are red, green and black. Doll has a porcelain socket head, composition wood body. Arms and legs move at hip and shoulder and are jointed at knee and elbow. Head moves at neck. Makeup is in clean undamaged condition. No breaks or fractures. Eyes do not move. Wig in poor condition.

I do not know anything beyond that this was a piece in my husband's grandmother's collection.

This appears to be ca. 1900 german Armand Marseille folklore doll, hand painted bisque porcelain head doll on composition material body, dressed as a scottish boy. The estimate is based on similar items sold at auction. A proud patriotic scotsman / woman might be willing to pay more than the high estimate.
