Antique 18” Kestner 171 bisque doll with sleepy blue eyes and open mouth. With Germany stamped on body. It appears to have on original dress and shoes. Unfortunately the dress disintegrates when trying to take it off.

The piece dates back to the period from 1910 to 1933. The piece is a Mold 171, which is one of the most successfull bisque dolls the brand has ever produced. The head of the doll is made of bisque porcelain, which is a type of unglazed porcelain. The piece's facial features were entirely hand painted. The piece is jointed on arms, hand, knees, shoulders and feet as usual to quality German antique dolls. The piece has it's original dress in late victorian style, satin. The piece does have large blue eyes, a common figure on Mold 171 pieces. The piece has the usual Kestner marking and serial number. The piece appears to be in good condition without visible problems aside from signs of use and age. Entirely hand painted.
