Dear Jennifer, Your set seems to be not entirely Japanese.The kettle looks European to me.It is not from Japan I believe. Form and also decoration makes me say that. Chests and containers look ok and 19th century or around 1900. Kettle itself is also antique from 19th century...but European IMO. You do not have original kettle and of course that influences price. I'm sorry.
