Hi Stephanie, Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. I've seen these made throughout Asia; unless it's marked, it a bit more accurate to say "Asian" rather than Japanese. Several examples - of slightly different forms - have been offered at auction recently; here is a link to them: https://www.liveauctioneers.com/search/?keyword=brass%20noodle&sort=-saleStart&status=archive If you'd like for your appraisal to include dimensions, which is customary, please forward in the comments section - at your convenience - the height and diameter and I'll update this ASAP. Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is: A vintage Asian brass noodle-vending cart early 20th Century Of circular section, with domed cover over a divided interior, with long ladle over a pierced base, all on a circular wheeled wooden (elm?) base. (DIMENSIONS) CONDITION: not examined in person but appears to be in good condition commensurate to age and use. PROVENANCE: acquired in Japan in the late 1970s/early 1980s $100-150* *represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary. Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you again for using Mearto.
