Hello Sean, I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal, Considering the photographs, overall pattern, materials and the composition, I concluded that this is a Baltic Amber Pendant with a 18K Gold Metal Body, the piece dates back to the period between 1930-1950. The Amber is a semi-precious stone formed by former resine of trees, mostly from pine trees. The pieces mostly come from Baltic Region to the Western Market and shaped as jewellery later. This is a large amber piece on your pendant. Amber is widely used as a center stone in many compositions. The piece has a metal body made of 18K Gold. The style indicates the period mentioned above. The amber is held by a single stripe in decoration and it has a sea shell or Fleur-Lys inspired pendant clasp. Mostly used in 1940's. The amber shows many inclusions as usual to most of the Baltic Ambers and is considerably opaque in comparison to ambers used in modern compositions. The piece is in good condition without any faults. Baltic Amber Center Stone. Dimensions: 18.9 Grams of Weight. Condition: he piece is in good condition without any faults. Provenance: Unknown. 80-120$. Please don’t hesitate to reach us again for more online appraisals on your precious items, thank you for choosing Mearto.
