Hello Roberto, I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal, Considering the photographs, overall pattern, knot density and the colours, I concluded that this is an Entirely Hand Knotted Persian Kerman Rug. The piece likely dates back to the period from 1930 to 1950. The piece is a classic period Kerman, it is heavily decorated with densely designed floral motifs. The piece is centrally decorated with a central medallion, this medallion is horizontally alligned. The piece's colour palette is also appropriate for the period with a similar palette to the paneled Bakhtiari Rugs. Of course the design is quite very different. There are two lanterns hanging from both sides of the cenral medallion, these lanterns are shaped in a sort of vase style. The piece can be considered as a semi-antique piece. The piece is knotted on a beige to ivory coloured base. There are no evident borders to the piece, the borders are more like a single connected body that also acts as a central decorative element. The piece's knot density is average for a Kerman from this period. Therefore the motifs are rendered somewhat clearly. The piece is knotted wool on cotton. The piece is in good condition with signes of use and age. Entirely hand knotted. Dimensions: 7 Feet by 10 Feet Condition: The piece is in good condition with signes of use and age. Provenance: Inherited from the customer's great grandfather who was a big collector or art and design. Heavily decorated by traditional Kerman patterns. 1500-2500$.
