Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is: A Chippendale cherry or maple corner cupboard New England, late 18th Century In one piece, surmounted by a complex molded cornice over a corresponding case fitted with a single mullioned glazed door opening to blue painted shaped shelves, the lower section with two paneled cupboard doors opening to a red painted shelved interior, all on short bracket feet. Overall height 83 inches; greatest width 42 inches, depth 29 1/2 inches CONDITION: appears to be in good condition; exterior possibly refinished; painted blue interior possibly original (red paint possibly later) PROVENANCE: acquired from a friend who works on antiques $3,000-5,000* *represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
