This is an early to mid 20th century Italian 'Grand Tour' decorative wall art souvenir piece panel that was created in Florence. This type of craft is called Florentine Gilded Wood and the 'painting' is a pasted down print that has been treated on the surface to appear like an original painting. The image is a copy of a 1330 painting; the translated title is "Guidoriccio Da Fogliano At The Siege Of Montemassi" and it was painted by Simone Martini (1284 - 1344). The original is a western wall fresco in the Sala del Mappamondo in the Palazzo Pubblico in Siena. The size of yours is for placement over a mantle of large double doorway. Florentine gilded wood objects are collectible on today's market. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
