The item presented appears to be an oil painting in the style of Marc Chagall (1887 - 1985), measuring 80 x 60 cm. The painting appears to be a copy painting after an original 1964 lithograph titled "Amoureux dans le ciel de Nice" (Lovers in the sky in Nice). The labels are likely placed there to incite deceit. If the work was held in the MoMA's collection, the museum would indeed have a record of it as the institution includes an entire staff that manages its collection. The images has been widely produced as a lithograph and other reproduction prints.
