This considerably modest colours and designs were heavily used and still being used in Tabriz knotting ateliers. The pad you can see under both edges is a characteristic application of the ateliers from Tabriz. Also the considerably low density of the rug is an indication that it was a recent piece. Piece has a pale pinkish colour which can make it very attractive to certain types of interior design. Persian rugs have many patterns which were inherited from centuries of tradition. Tabriz rugs usually uses a wide range of patterns from this traditional figures. Your piece has a flowing patterns without a medallion, which we usually see in Persian Carpet compositions. Piece seems to be in very good condition, the weaving quality is average when compared to it's peers. Entirely hand knotted.
