A.K. Prueitt painting
This painting is signed by a A.K. Prueitt. The signature has the same characteristics as A Kelly Pruitt . This painting is on what I believe to be petrified wood it is a painting of a shepherd and the Sheep the Sheep are drinking out of a pool of water you can see the reflection of the sheep and the Shepherd in the water . I know some of those paintings have been on Sandstone but I could not find any on petrified wood . I found something on the internet called the Taos discussion buy a Paul Prueitt. In this discussion he talked all about Kelly Pruitt . What I'm curious about is obviously cost or price and if in fact AK Prueitt is A Kelly Pruitt .

According to the photographs provided, your work is signed ‘A. K. Prueitt’. Unfortunately, we are unable to find any similar artist's signature in our records. However, there are many auction listings for the artist called ‘A. Kelly Pruitt’ whose work bears a great resemblance to your painting, and for a few examples, I invite you to check the following link:

So the appraisal that I am going to give you is based on the assumption that it is by ‘A. Kelly Pruitt’. Your work is a western American landscape with a Native American shepherd and his herd, signed on the lower right. It measures approx. 6.5”x 10.5”. The condition looks good overall, but without direct access to your work we are not able to confirm the support, it is painted on. So for this particular appraisal, I have taken into account the subject work’s size, composition, condition as well as the artists’ current auction market (‘A. Kelly Pruitt’ in this case) of these last five years.
