Dear Gioia,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a set of six cups and 5 saucers with blue decoration. These milk glass pieces were made around 1900 probably in Great Britain. A second center for the production of milk glass was France but the more geometric decoration fits better with Great Britain. Sadly there is no mark visible.
Comparable objects were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and no severe damage is visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 20 to 50 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
Dear Gioia,
Thank you for your email. The shape is indeed more in the second half of the 19th century. Often were older porcelain designs used with more modern decor because it is easier to change the decor in the production chain than the porcelain designs.
With kind regards,
George
Dear George,
Not satisfied with your answer.
I have paid good money to get 'professional' answers.
AGAIN, I ask that you provide me with the [pictures of the items that you are comparing my Milk Glass Cups to??
I will draw your attention to the fact that these are individually 'hand painted' with some 'heavy / embossed detail'.
If I don't get satisfactory results within 7 days. I will make an application to my Visa card account providers for the transactional payment to be withdrawn.
Sincerely,
Gioia Ross
Dear George,
Could it be that there is 'no mark' because they are of an age that preceeds 'marks'?
Also the shape & size if the cups seem to indicate an earlier than1900's period.
Further, please provide the pictures of the 'similar items' that have recently sold that you have used as a comparison.
Regard
Gioia Ross
