The appraised work appears to be a digital print in colors, presumably on Kodak paper titled "Wink" executed by Japanese artist Takashi Murakami (b. 1962). The print depicts a character called Oval, first introduced at an exhibition held at Grand Central Station in New York City in 2001. Murakami is well-known for his genre-bending work, which straddles both the fine and commercial artistic realms. He is the founder of Superflat, an aesthetic that combines classical Japanese art with contemporary pop culture. The estimate provided is based on comparables recently offered and sold at auction.
