Based on the photographs and description provided, the subject of this appraisal is a signed Spalding Miami Heat NBA basketball bearing signatures in black permanent marker of members of the 2010-2011 Miami Heat team. Based on comparison of signatures found in the photographs to known autographs, the following players are believed to have signed the ball: Joel Anthony, Mike Bibby, Udonis Haslem, Juwan Howard, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, James Jones, Jamaal Magloire, Mike Miller, Dexter Pittman, and Jerry Stackhouse. Unfortunately, many of the team's stars on the roster at the time did not appear to sign this piece. Missing signatures are believed from examination of the photos to include: Carlos Arroyo, Chris Bosh, Mario Chalmers, Erick Dampier, Eddie House, LeBron James, and Dwayne Wade. The piece includes a letter establishing its provenance as coming from the Miami Heat themselves, as the letter was written by its community affairs coordinator indicating that the piece was a donation, and indeed may not include all team members' signatures. Based on the values of the signatures believed to be on the ball and the piece's overall collectibility as it is missing the star players from the roster, the Fair Market Value (a pre-auction estimate) of the piece would be estimated at $100 to $150 USD.
