Dear Kristy, Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. The presented object appears to be a watercolor drawing on rice paper with unknown measurements. The drawing depicts the view of a village or city. A white house on the right and some more houses and gable roofs are shown as the main motif. Also, we see a turret probably of a church on the left side. In the foreground, we see some willow trees and something which could be interpreted as a boat or bridge. The architecture of the houses and the turret localize this to Europe perhaps Germany, Bohemia, Switzerland, or Austria. The signature is sadly not clearly readable but the style and the motif suggest that this artwork was made by a Western European artist in the 1950s. The used rice paper is a traditional Asian material but it was a trend since the early 20th century to use this also by Western artists. Also, the very rough structure of the fibers was mainly used by the Western artists and Asian artists usually preferred rice paper with a finer structure of the fibers. This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided. A fair market estimation would be between 40 to 80 USD. This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary. With kind regards, George
