I'm not sure if it's actually 1931. Someone wrote 1931 on the inside of the box, so just making an educated guess. The head, forearms and hands are porcelein. The eyes open and close. The rest of the body is some type of leatherette material. There are no chips or cracks in the porcelein that I can tell. The pink dress looks original as well as the pink stockings and paper shoes. There are no holes or tears in the clothing. Her hair is a little smashed from being in the box, but otherwise in good shape. Armand Marsielle is on the back of the head along with 'Germany 370'

Hi Wendy, Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. Armand Marseille made the 370 model between 1900 and 1938; it is probably a safe bet that the date of 1931 was when the doll was acquired, so it was probably made in the first quarter of the 20th Century (1900-1925), or shortly thereafter. Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is: An antique Armand Marseille part porcelain doll model #370, made in Germany, circa first quarter 20th Century With bisque head, arms and hands, kid (goat leather) body ; painted features and sleeping eyes, brown hair, pink dress with lace trim, knit stockings and paper shoes. Marked to the back of the head "Armand Marseille / Germany / 370" 24 inches tall CONDITION: appears to be in very good condition; clothing may be original. PROVENANCE: inherited $ 75-125* *represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
