You can pull the top off and simply insert the opened condensed milk tin. The pure silver coating is extremely thin and easily wears off. This dipsenser was made in the 1950s ( Deutsches Bundes Gebrauchs Muster = design registered). The estimate is based on similar items sold at auction. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the item.
