21” barrel
My grandfather gave this to my mother when she was 5 years old. Being from the depression era it was far more important to teach a child with a skill and as my grandfather was an avid outdoorsman but a shoe repairman by trade with a daughter as an only child he felt the need to teach her that it was important to be self sufficient as his mother of 9 children who raised them by herself was. He passed away in 1977 at the age of 78. With so many firearms that he had she was left to reselling nearly 100, keeping this one. I was 8 years old and seeing so many rifles and shotguns along the walls of his house this little tiny looking one-how she made sure to set it aside, all of a sudden slowing down and smiling. And it was first time I’d seen her smile since grandpa had passed. She went everywhere with it as a little girl, and used it a lot squirrel hunting with grandpa. She taught us firearm safety and how to shoot.
