Fair Market Value
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a mid 20th century japanese incense burner or koro. The blue on white design is applied by hand but is very likely transfer printed. The elephant tusk handles are more common in Japan, the simplified near abstract depiction of the foo dog, would also indicate that this is a piece of japanese production. Meander or cloud and thunder decoration can be found both in chinese and japanese art. Unfortunately the four character mark at the base is too blurred, simply illegible except for the first character "great". The estimate is based on similar items offered or sold at auction.
