What does this mean?

Dear Jack,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

The presented object appears to be a woodblock print on rice paper with measurements of 19 x 25 inches. The print depicts three ships in a bay with a steep cost to the right and the sun or moon to the left in the sky. The print is hand-signed in pencil with the name "Georg Eckhard..", dated (19)"50" or (19)"56", and has the edition 32/50 and the remark "orig" for original. Sadly no further information regarding the biography of this artist is mentioned in reference books or similar databases.
Works by this artist were recently not offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 100 to 200 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.

With kind regards,
Georg
