Description

The three cups appear to be Japanese and hand painted. On one side there is a ship at sea, and the other side shows a captain with a telescope. There is a hallmark underneath, and the cups measure 3.75 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide.

Three Chinese or Japanese export blue and white porcelain tea cups
Yi Feng studio, mid 20th Century
European decoration, depicting a ship on one side, a European seacaptain on the other, with Mandarin script character inscription "yi feng" on the bottom.
3 3/4 inches tall, 2 1/2 inches diameter
CONDITION: appear to be in good condition
PROVENANCE: acquired at auction

My friend was able to answer fairly quickly on the inscription - its a Mandarin inscription reading Yi Feng, which she says is a private name and refers to either the potter or studio; unfortunately, there is no information on that potter/pottery in any of the online databases I have access to.
