What does this mean?

Dear Michael,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

The presented object appears to be a leather hardcover book "The Poetical Works" by Thomas Campbell published by Edward Moxon in London in the year 1843. the first edition was published by Moxon in the year 1837. The sides of the pages of these books were decorated with fore-edge paintings as watercolor drawings with views of Edinburgh Castle and a view of Ballamyle in Scotland, Ayrshire.
This piece is in medium condition and there is foxing visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 100 to 200 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.

With kind regards,
Georg
