What does this mean?

Thank you for contacting Mearto for your appraisal inquiry. Based on the description provided, the subject of this appraisal is a set of approximately 90 pieces of Theodore Haviland China in the Schleiger 1244 pattern. The set is purported to include 10 saucers, 11 tea cups with gold trim handles, 10 berry dishes, 11 dessert plates, 10 salad plates, 10 lunch plates, 11 soup bowls, 10 dinner plates, 1 large gilt platter, 1 small gilt platter, 1 gilt oblong serving bowl, 1 gilt relish tray, 1 gilt sugar bowl with lid, and 4 butter pat plates. Based on the backmark in the photos, this set can be dated to 1903. The appraisal assumes accuracy in the owner’s description of the set being in excellent condition and having no missing pieces, with a single chip at the handle area of the serving tray. Based on condition verification matching the description provided, the Fair Market Value of the set as described is between $200 and $300 as guided by recent auction sales of Haviland sets in comparable patterns from this era, with a premium given to the inclusion in the set of the platters and serving bowls. Unfortunately, the market for a complete set of early china is depressed at present. While single replacement pieces in this particular pattern are available on various websites in the $8 to $15 per piece range (retail/asking), in auction settings large sets comparable to this one of Haviland china are not fetching those prices and are consistently in the $1 to $3 per piece range.
