This painting can, I believe be attributed to the New Zealand artist Sydney Lough Thompson. The work is oil on board. The dimensions (excluding the frame) are 60cm x 48cm. Unfortunately the work is unsigned, however on the reverse is an exhibition label with the name S L Thompson, ‘Seascape at Concarneau’ 1930, and a catalogue number 21. Sydney Lough Thompson had his studio at Concarneau in north west France.

I purchased the painting from a dealer in Chagford, Devon. They had not identified the artist from the exhibition label on the reverse. The dealer obtains all her stock from France.
