What does this mean?

Dear Susannah,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry and thank you for your patience.

The presented object appears to be a Guatemalan silver coin belt which is made probably out of 1/2 Real coins. The exact dating is sadly not possible because of the blurred detail images of the coins. It could be made in the late 19th or 20th century. The could should be made out of 900 silver.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 200 to 400 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.

With kind regards,
Georg
