What does this mean?

Hi Peter,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Pieces of this vintage are often marked / branded / labeled in some way, usually discretely, that identifies the maker. If you happen to find anything, please let me know so I can reassess my value.
This table would be worth $1,500-2,500 if the extending leaves were with it...just letting you know in case you find them or can get them.
Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

A Classical style tiger oak extending circular single-pedestal dining table
unattributed maker, American, late 19th/early 20th Century
The circular extending top over a straight column, raised on a quadipartite base terminating in four carved paw feet.
30 inches tall, 51 1/2 inches diameter
lacking leaves
CONDITION: alterations to base; feet with some minor wear but commensurate with age and use and do not devalue the table.
$1,000-1,500*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
