carved root wood burl and rosewood sculpture is of Shou Lao, a Chinese God who represents a Deity of longevity. He typically is portrayed with a bald forehead which is a symbol for wisdom and longevity and holds a peach which is an auspicious symbol of longevity. the type of nails for securing it would in my opinion date it to the 1700's to mid 1800's--certainly no later than the late 1800's so from an age perspective your sculpture is as old as I have found. Markings are on the base and the main part of the item.
I inherited from my parents and they acquired it from China in the mid 60's
