What does this mean?

This is an antique, late 19th century to early 20th century photogravure print of a painting. Photogravures were a type of print that would reproduce a photographic image; they were many times used for capturing the most accurate view of a painting, though only in black and white or sepia and the actual paintings are almost always in full color. This appears to be a photogravure of a work by a Pre-Raphaelite style artist and it depicts ancients from either Rome or Greece listening to someone who is a likely a philosopher or teacher. The print is in very poor condition which does impact value. The estimate, factors in the condition, is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
