What does this mean?

Hello Connor,
Thank you for sending in your wristwatch to mearto.com for an appraisal. I shall try to help you with that today.
TITLE:
An altered and replicated, men’s, tonneau-shaped, center seconds, stainless steel wristwatch with date, and an aluminum 'Jubilee'-style bracelet with deployant clasp with no trademarks, dial reads “Rolex, Oyster Perpetual, Date-Just, Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified” model, a replica of the Rolex Ref. 16030, maker or origin unknown, perhaps Asian origin, made from c. 1980-2015 with associated parts.
DESCRIPTION:
Case: 36 mm three leaf, polished and brushed stainless steel, screwed-down case back and screwed down crown, crown, fluted steel bezel, acrylic crystal with cyclops lens integrated with an aluminum folded link bracelet, not made by Rolex, with no numbered end links. The back of the case has a Rolex ref. 1803 sticker, a totally different type of Rolex watch.
Dial: Black dial with applied faceted steel baton indices, some showing signs of oxidation and others not (Rolex dials do not age min this manner), no luminous dots, closed outer minute/second division with Roman markers placed every five minutes/seconds with an aperture for the date @3. Non-luminous skeletonized paddle fan hands (not a Rolex hand and does not fit the dial). ALL of the ref. 16030 dials are marked at the base of the dial for Swiss or Swiss made but that is not seen here. The signature on the dial reading Rolex, Oyster Perpetual Datejust is written awkwardly and non-professionally and would never have been done by Rolex. Therefore, the dial, as well as the bracelet is unrelated to Rolex.
Movement: Not shown nor mentioned. From what I have seen of the watch I certainly cannot count on a Rolex movement inside the case. {The genuine article has the Rolex Cal. 3035, rhodium plated, stippled perlage decorated, 27 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions and temperature, shock absorber, free-sprung self-compensating Breguet balance spring, hack mechanism.}
CONDITION:
This is a Rolex replica and likely made in Asia or made from parts of different watches. It is obviously made to deceive the buyer and has very little value. The notes about its failure to meet Rolex standards have been contained in the sections written above.
HISTORY:
History of the genuine Rolex 16030:
They all have 36mm Oyster cases built with a water depth rating of 100 meters. Furthermore, they all (naturally) include the date aperture at 3 o’clock after which the watch is named, in addition to the Cyclops lens above it charged to magnify the date. Finally, all steel Datejust watches are of course equipped with automatic mechanical movements. Rolex manufactured the older of the two families (ref. 16000, 16014, and 16030) from the late 1970s until the late 1980s. These particular steel Datejust watches have all the elements you would expect from a vintage Rolex watch from their acrylic crystals to their tritium lume to their holes in the lugs of the cases. Also, there’s a choice of Oyster or Jubilee bracelets, all featuring flip clasps, hollow links, and end pieces.

Pricing is not difficult with all of the non-Rolex components and the fact that it appears, at least to me, that this watch is intended to deceive a potential buyer. I am sorry to have to inform you that the value is very low and no retailer would touch such a watch for his business. The fair market value is put at $100-$150 and I will mark this not as a fake but (for your sake) mark it conditional. That means if you can find me other examples of this model that reproduce the findings on your watch I would be happy to reconsider my appraisal. It give you a chance to prove to me that this watch is genuine. However, it is my current believe it is a replica, and not a good one.
Thank you for using mearto.com.
My best,
David

Hello Connor,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please answer some questions for me:
1 - Are you stating that the bracelet is made of aluminum?
If so, is it marked Rolex on the clasp and perhaps provide a photo of the clasp?
2 - Did you intend to state that the bezel is made of aluminum? If not what is the bezel material? stainless steel or white gold.
3 - You have a sticker on the back of the watch marked 1803. Do you know the significance of the sticker?
4 - Has the dial been repainted?
5 -Do you know if anything has been altered on this watch: the dial, movement, case and bracelet.
I ask these questions upfront because I do see some things that concern me and I wanted to clarify if there have been alterations or marriages of parts made on this watch.
Thank you for answering these questions.
David

Thanks
