What does this mean?

Dear Michael,

Thank you for your request. You had a look under the furniture if there isn't any label or stamp? Would be a great help. Thank you.

With best regards,
Georg

Hi Georg,

I checked again underneath and on all surfaces, there are no labels or stamps that I can see. There are coiled metal springs inside the cushion, is the only extra information that I can add.

Thank you,
Michael

Dear Michael,

Thank you for the additional information. I have to ask you for some patience. This chair has a very good design and with some research, I could perhaps find the designer, but this will take a little bit of time.

With best regards,
Georg

Dear Michael,

Thank you for your patience. Sadly I didnt found out the exact designer. This marvelous rocking chair was made around 1900 or 1910 in America probably in the East Coast area. It is made out of white oak wood and has unusual brass applications. This applications show circles and the face with grapes of a Satyr or the god Dionysus itself. Satyrs are wild hearted nature creatures from the entourage of the greek god of wine Dionysus. My first idea was it to attribute to the great designers of New York like Studio Tiffany or similar, but I found sadly no comparable piece so this riddle remains unsolved.
An estimation would be between 250 to 500 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.

With best regards,
Georg
