Based on the photographs and description provided, the subject of this appraisal is a lightly-cancelled (used or postmarked) set of two United States 1922-38 Issue stamps. One specimen is a 1 cent Benjamin Franklin green in Used Fine condition and the other a 2 cent George Washington. Both stamps have a straight left edge (and the Franklin, a straight bottom edge as well) rather than perforations indicating the origin of each being in a common book of twelve stamps of that denomination.

The postmark dates the items as being sent in 1938. The condition of the 1 cent Franklin is estimated at Used Fine, and the 2 cent Washington in Used Avg. These stamps were quite common during their day with some very rare exceptions, but this Franklin stamp is not one of those exceptions as its origin was clearly in a booklet.
